Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, one of India’s most prominent social reformers and the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, was an exceptionally well-educated individual. Here is a list of his academic degrees:

Bachelor of Arts (BA) – Dr. Ambedkar completed his BA degree from Elphinstone College in Mumbai (then Bombay) in 1912.

Master of Arts (MA) – He earned his MA degree in Economics from the University of Mumbai in 1915.

DSc (Doctor of Science) – In 1916, Ambedkar was awarded a DSc (Doctor of Science) from the London School of Economics.

Bar-at-Law – Ambedkar was called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn, London, in 1921, qualifying him to practice law in England and India.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – He earned a PhD in Economics from Columbia University, New York, in 1927. His thesis was titled “The Problem of the Rupee: Its Origin and Its Solution”.

Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) – He was conferred an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of Columbia in 1952.

Dr. Ambedkar’s academic achievements were not only extraordinary but also pioneering, considering the social and economic challenges he faced due to his lower-caste background. His education played a key role in his advocacy for social justice, equality, and the rights of Dalits in India.
